It is with genuine honor to be the next Superintendent at Parkers Prairie School District. I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to collaborate and build strong relationships with the exceptional students, dedicated staff, supportive families, and the entire Parkers Prairie community.

I am committed to the advancement of Parkers Prairie School District, and I eagerly look forward to contributing towards the educational growth and success of each student in our school. Thank you for the warm welcome, and I am excited to embark on this journey with all of you.

Family

For the last five years, I have lived in Grand Marais, MN with my family of 5. My husband and I will celebrate our 22nd anniversary in August. He is a supportive and dedicated father to our 3 children. Our eldest, Emmalli, will be attending Cottey College in Nevada, MO with a focus on Environmental Studies. Our son, Benelli, will be a Junior at Parkers Prairie and enjoys playing baseball and golf, and having fun with motorsports. Molly will be a third-grader that enjoys music, dancing, the outdoors and is excited to make the move to Parkers Prairie Elementary school. As a family, we enjoy being together, fishing and playing on the water, snowmobiling, and traveling.

Background

As a daughter of a teacher, my values and the importance of education have been ingrained in me since I was a child. I have degrees from Cottey College, Bemidji State University, Southwest Minnesota State University, and Minnesota State University-Moorhead. These degrees instilled knowledge and experiences that supported the values and goals that I bring with me as a Superintendent. Students throughout the grade levels should see the value of education and set individual goals to reach their full potential. My goal is to prioritize the education of students, so that they may have the experiences and knowledge to be well-prepared to meet their life goals and be successful members of our community and world.

My career started in New York Mills, MN as a 5th and 6th-grade reading and math teacher after completing my student teaching in the 6th-grade classroom. In my 12 years, I supported student learning in a variety of different areas including 7th and 8th-grade middle school math. There are many leadership attributes that I can trace back to my experiences with my colleagues and the administrators in New York Mills.

In 2016, I became a Principal of Circle of Life Academy in White Earth, MN. There I lead and supported the K-12 students and staff through 2 years of improvement. For the last 5 years, I have been the PK-12 grade Principal at Cook County Schools. During this time I have had the additional experience of leading as the Principal/Superintendent through the pandemic.
